I started my new job this week. I kind of feel like a freshman with a wedgie around the building...meaning, I don't really know where to sit in the cafeteria, not really sure who is going to be my friend and who I should steer clear from. I'm the new kid. I also forgot that I have to pretend to be a lawyer again, and therefore, snap back into corporate life mode. No more daydreaming about wedding planning (which is coming along VERY slowly at this point). There's also no more afternoon naps with The Fiance where we can be lazy. I am up at 6 AM and out the door by 6:58 AM. I catch the subway to a train and 90 minutes later, I am at work. This applies for the way back too (in reverse). It's a VERY long day. I'm debating getting one of those netbooks so I can blog on the train ride, but who wants to pay an extra $60/month just for the AT&T wireless service? Not me. I'm the cheapest person I know.
The Fiance is off at his friend's place, getting ready for football. I have never seen anybody more excited for the Redskins to come back. I have already been told that Sunday is reserved for football - there is a huge game against the Giants. I guess I should brace myself.
Thanks for all of your patience in my lack of blogging. I will try to be better (and will definitely be better if I get the netbook). I'm still trying to figure out what all of those people in NYC who are just walking around shopping and eating in outdoor cares do for a living. Maybe they have trust funds. Maybe they are unemployed. Maybe they are in between jobs. Maybe they are bloggers. It's not fair. I need to find away to pay the bills and hang out at outdoor cafes.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated (and yes, I do participate in the lottery).
I hope the rest of your summers went well and you have fun plans for the fall.
