With the brink of summer upon us, I hope you all are enjoying this quite restful period between the end of last season's Bachelor and the upcoming Bachelorette season. I consider this my "off season" but soon enough, I will be kicking it up into high gear.
For all of you who don't know, The Bachelorette, starring the blonde Ali F, begins Monday, May 24th. Rumor has it, she has been filming throughout New York City, but nobody that I know has seen her. And once that season is over, ABC has come up with another way to keep its ratings throughout the summer. "The Bachelor Pad," is coming out August 9th and will consist of 20 former Bachelors and Bachelorettes coming back to get a "second chance" at love. Rumor has that there will be competitions set up where these individuals will participate in scenarios based on previous events that took place during their seasons. I have no idea what this means, but it should be somewhat amusing. Chris Harrison is hosting this most likely disaster of a show.
As for the current season of DWTS, I have to admit that I have not been watching this season. My mother and sister call me each week to tell me whatever it is that Jake is up to. My sister was particularly confused a couple of weeks ago when Jake performed in his underwear and a button down shirt. I explained that Tom Cruise/Risky Business connection that he was trying to invoke, but she just thought he looked particularly feminine. I can understand this opinion, but you've got to admit it takes guts to perform in your underwear on national TV.
Apologies that I have been somewhat MIA over the past few weeks. Today is our 6 week anniversary, and I have been working hard at the following: (1) my regular day job which has picked up quite a bit since I was gone for the wedding/honeymoon, (2) rebranding this blog, to make it appealing to a wider audience, (3) writing thank you cards from the wedding (we have had a debate as to whether it is still relevant to have to write thank you cards, whether you can email a thank you, or whether anybody really cares if you send a thank you card or not. I say you have to still write them. The Husband thinks that nobody cares) and (4) supporting The Husband's insane addiction to the Washington Capitals' playoff season.
I hope you can forgive me. We are off to play floor hockey shortly. 9 PM games also make it very difficult to get much writing done. But this week, I'm buckling down. There's way too much going on in the world that needs to be written about. More on the new blog to come...
