Almost as insane as my love for The Bachelor/Bachelorette, is The Husband's love of the Star Wars movies. The original movies, obviously - not the more recent ones. We have been waiting for my older nephews to be of an appropriate age where we could show them these movies and they would make it through without a) crying b) falling asleep c) telling us they are bored and begging for us to watch something else. That time came this past Saturday night. We dressed up in costume, made our Wookie Cookies (actually, my sister made them) and we watched the original first movie. To our complete delight, both boys loved it. Ryan, the 7 year old, actually started sweating during the last 30 minutes of the movie - that's how into it he got. Jonah, the 8 year old, also was into it, asking no less than 75 questions, but still enjoying the whole experience. Both can not wait to see "The Empire Strikes Back." Jonah and Ryan's younger twin brothers, also enjoyed the experience, though they were put to bed before the movie started.
