ALLAN WANGA GETS ORANGE AMBASSADORIAL ROLE
Angela Nganga Mumo- Head of Corporate Affairs, Orange, Allan Wanga (dribbling the ball) and Innocent Mutiso, looking on.
Leading soccer player Allan Wanga and national Under-20 team captain Innocent Mutiso have both acquired another feather to their caps. Orange has appointed the two as ambassadors in the Orange Mabingwa Under-13 tournament that was launched last week.
Wanga and Mutiso, are expected to grace the Orange Mabingwa matches, motivate and mentor the pupils from different primary schools in Nairobi, who will be participating in the matches.
The tournament which is sponsored by Orange is expected to run over the next six weeks, and is aimed at helping identify new talent, with a long term view of anchoring Kenya’s future in soccer.
Wanga, who also turns out for the national side Harambee Stars, said he was honoured by his appointment as one of the ambassadors of the tournament.
“Keep away from drugs and friends who will not help you develop academically or in your talent”, he said before the kick off match, played last week.
Speaking at the same event, Mutiso, encouraged them by sharing about his spiritual life. “In everything you do you must remember to seek God’s guidance. Thank God for the successes too”, he said.
During the launch ceremony the pupils also displayed their talent, in songs and rapping, before Jua Cali, Jimmy Gait and Size 8 took the stage, driving the pupils into frenzy.
