Merry Christmas to All, And to All - A Good Bachelor Season!!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and a very happy hanukkah as well!  I am in my pjs, with a yule log playing on my TV from the WB11 station.  Christmas music is playing and I am waiting for The Husband to wake up from his Nyquil induced coma to perhaps see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Part 1.  Poor guy picked up a nasty cold, so don't think we'll be doing much for the Xmas weekend.  Can't complain, though.  We just got back from an incredible week at the place we got married - San Juan, Puerto Rico.  What a fun week.  My parents, sister, brother in law and four nephews were all there.  We jumped the waves in the ocean, had dinner in Old San Juan, began a ping pong tournament that we'll have to finish next year and The Husband found a very lucky slot machine in the casino where he won the whole family dinner!  I did not have as much luck in the casino, however, I did win two games of bingo which got me a pina colada and a rum punch. Some pictures of our fun adventures in PR are posted below.  I highly recommend it as a long or quick getaway.  Try the Intercontinental Hotel in San Juan.  If I could go back today, I would.

Now, back to Bachelor land.  Can you believe we are almost a week away from the season premiere of Ben Flajnik's season which airs Monday, Jan 2nd at 8 PM ET/PT?? Lots of rumors swirling around how he fairs during his season, but as you know THIS BLOG NEVER POSTS SPOILERS.  We are simply here to speculate, gossip and discuss the insane events that are sure to take place and to exchange opinions with others who are as obsessed with the show as you are.

First off, for all of you that want to set your DVRs and Tivos, Ben's upcoming appearances are as follows: Dec 29 on 'E! News', Jan 2 on 'Good Morning America', Jan 2 on Live! with Kelly.  It's always interesting to hear how much information Ben will reveal about the outcome of the show.  Sometimes (like Brad's season), the Bachelor will say straight up whether there is a happy ending or not.  Given the show's limited success rate, they may do well to leak information indicating there is a happy engagement, etc.  If you want to follow Ben on Twitter (he may be the first Bachelor that has been tweeting in advance of his season) - his Twitter handle is @BenFlajnik  And if you're looking for a special way to kick off your Bachelor viewing this season, perhaps you can order a bottle of wine from Ben's company: Evolve Wines.

If you need something to carry you over to the Bachelor premiere, Ryan Seacrest did a fun interview of Ben F (last name pronounced Flah-Nik (silent J)) after the season ended.  You can listen to the whole 15 minute interview below, but to save you some time, here are the highlights:
  • Ben admits that he was actually in love with Ashley H.  He doesn't regret proposing, but he does believe that being engaged and being married are two different things (good save, Ben)
  • Ben did go on a date with Jennifer Love Hewitt.  She was testing out Twitter and got in touch with him through that.  Sounds like they may have made out (not confirmed), but there was no second date.
  • When asked whether he was currently in love, Ben said he could not answer.
  • There is a lot of fighting amongst the women this year (like every season), particularly with the model Courtney (see previous blog entry).
  • There is also rumored to be some serious skinny dipping this season.  Interesting.
My favorite part of Ben's interview was his quote, "My life is relatively quiet.  I'd like to keep it that way."  Well, what better way to keep a quiet life than to go on The Bachelor and have your personal life exposed to millions of people, right?

Enjoy your holidays and have a very safe, healthy and happy 2012!!
