It's getting hot out there, Bach fans. I hope you're staying cool, drinking lots of water and praying to the air conditioning gods that your city can sustain this heat wave without suffering any blackouts or electricity failures. Speaking of failures, I'm reevaluating my favorite deodorant. After enduring the oven heat in Grand Central on my way to and from subways and trains, having an amazing deodorant is critical. Let's face it - we're human and when it's 101 degrees outside but feels like 110, something's got to give. Hopefully it's not your deodorant. Can you recommend yours and let us know if it's heat wave resistant? Don't be shy.
So if you thought last season's Bachelor Pad 2 was a bit too Jerry Springer for your taste, then Bachelor Pad 2, which begins August 8th, may take it to a whole new level. The three hour season premiere (yes, that's right - a whole THREE hours), promises to take crazy to the extreme. I've broken down some of the contestants here and what each will bring to the Bachelor Pad:
1. Jake and Vienna. Clearly this is the featured drama of the season and based on the tidbit we got during The Bachelorette's commercial on Monday - it seems to have gotten pretty intense. Rumor has it that Vienna got a nose job from Erica Rose's dad. Princess Erica, the tiara wearing blonde Texas chick who was delusional on Prince Lorenzo's season of Bachelor, seems to have befriended Vienna. Perhaps she gave her a rhino-discount for sharing extreme blonde highlighting techniques. I don't think we'll see Vienna's new nose on this season, but we will see her new relationship with Guard and Protect Your Heart Kasey Kahl. Who else can't wait to hear Jake and Kasey fighting - Jake spitting out venom while trying to look good and Kasey responding in mumbles?
2. Graham Bunn. Do you guys remember this hottie? He was on DeAnna Pappas's season and he's best known for (gasp) not being interested in the Bachelorette and possibly having a girlfriend back at home while on the show. Who cares because he's gorgeous from head to toe.
3. Gia. The first and only contestant to be allowed to come back to Bachelor Pad for a second time, Gia is on the show for one reason: and it ain't her brain power. Some may question whether Gia has an unfair advantage having already been on the show. Listen to her speak for 5 minutes and you will understand that there is nothing to fear. Can't wait to hear her explain why things didn't work out with Wes.
4. Blake, William and Ames. These three are the chosen guys from Ashley's season to come back for the Pad. I'm happy for Ames - he's so polite and nice that he deserves some additional time in the spotlight. Would love to see a conversation between him and Gia. It will be like watching two species from different ends of the earth come together.
5. Drama Queens: Michelle Money, Justin Rego and Melissa Schreiber. These guys are just here to stir the pot. Michelle will be the best at it and can't wait to watch her scheme her way through elimination rounds. Making alliances by using her "assets." I will definitely look forward to her living with Jackie Gordon - as these two had one of the most uncomfortable and nasty interactions at the Women Tell All on Brad's season. I hope there's some sort of mud wrestling competition where Michelle can get Jackie back for questioning her mothering skills.
6. Too Nice for the Pad: Kirk, Michael Stagliano, Alli Travis, Holly Durst. These guys are kind of just there to contrast the crazies around them. Michael and Holly were engaged at one point, so it will be interesting to see if/how exes can live together peacefully and whether there's any jealousy once one of them gets involved with someone else. Michael is too adorable for one of the other girls not to jump on him. Kirk was one of my favorites from Ali F's season - but he's too nice.
Til next time...
