Ed, Reid, Kiptyn or Nobody: Let's Discuss!

So despite having a ton of work to do, I find myself pondering the upcoming finale next week. We've got several things to think about revolving around the following: We're down to the final 2, but we know based on a quick shot of Reid holding a round ring, that he is definitely coming back next week for a "shocking confession." We also know he didn't attend the Men Tell All due to a "prior engagement." Now whose engagement this is (Reid's, Ed's or Kiptyn's) we have yet to know.

Here are the possible outcomes of next Monday night's finale:

1. Jillian chooses Kiptyn. Originally, the Kipper has been a frontrunner from the start. If his mother didn't scare her away, he still has a good shot. I don't like the fact that Jillian feels "out of his league" and I don't see her being as relaxed and quirky around him as she is with Ed and Reid. That said, their relationship has grown a lot, to the point she seems far more comfortable around him now than she did weeks ago. Their ropes course date and time in Hawaii together so far, seems to have bonded them to a new level. Also, not sure what I make of the fact that we didn't see their time together in great detail at Kiptyn's charity. Jillian has said that she thinks giving back is extremely important, and there you have the Kipster - doing that very thing. I wonder why ABC chose to edit this out of the original show. This makes me wonder whether a bulb went off in Jillian's head that Kippy (with his ridiculously nice house near the beach, wealthy family, good looks, great muscles and friendly personality) could be IT.

Kiptyn Pros: Great Looking, Affectionate, Articulate, His relationship with Jillian has been building up at a strong and steady pace; She has a clear cut attraction for him; He seems to be willing to try anything; Mature; Volunteers at Charity; His affluent lifestyle; Whenever they visit in-laws, she'll have hot tub waiting for her and beach nearby.

Kiptyn Cons: His Mother; His affluent upbringing that includes wine and lasagna taste testing; Not sure whether Jillian still feels as confident in Kiptyn's feelings for her as she does about Ed (and possibly Reid); Kiptyn's never been dumped before and Jillian sees this as a negative for some reason

2. Jillian Chooses Ed. Since the moment Ed walked in as part of the unexpected additional 5 men that Jillian had to choose from, I liked him. From their very first date, Jillian and Ed had a very relaxed chemistry and Ed seems extremely down to earth. A workaholic, Jillian can relate to his strong work ethic and Ed seems mature enough that he is ready to find that right person and settle down. Jillian was devastated when Ed announced he needed to leave and was shocked upon his return. Shocked and delighted. Their relationship may have had some setbacks, but has been full steam ahead ever since Ed returned. Ed has been the most articulate that he is actually in love with Jillian and that he would propose to her. Jillian admits to being extremely attracted to Ed. The one hitch in this relationship seems to be their overnight date in the fantasy suite that ABC built up for 6 weeks and then never quite explained. We are left to believe that for some reason there was a lack of chemistry, but we don't know what exactly happened, whether this was staged fake chemistry, and whether there has been any improvement since. I guess we'll have to see. If the two of them can make out in fountains in public, I'm sure they can find chemistry behind closed doors. Or maybe they have the problem that Charlotte (from Sex and the City) and her first husband, Trey, had - in that he could only "get it up" when they were in public places. Hmmmm. I don't know Ed, but I doubt that's his problem.

Ed Pros: Handsome, down to earth Midwestern boy; Career oriented, like Jillian; Great job at Microsoft; Very nice, sincere parents; Tal, dark and hot thing going for him; Ed is clearly head over heels for Jillian and can express his feelings; Funny when drunk; Very easy attraction/chemistry between him and Jills; Nice guy;

Ed Cons: Those horrible itty bitty shorts he was wearing; Maybe a bit too into his job for Jillian's taste, especially once all of these shenanigans are over and he has to go back to work and has little time for parading around doing interviews; Possible momentary lack of chemistry may put bigger doubts in Jillian's mind about him; His firm belief that he's in love with Jillian and ready to propose may come on a bit strong - and ultimately turn off Jillian (since she seems to like the bad boys more who show less interest in her, like Wes).

3. Jillian chooses Reid. Reid has definitely grown the most in his relationship with Jillian. He was rejected last week, but we know from their good-bye, his limo ride where he regretted not laying it all out there for Jillian, and from the coming attractions that this love story is not quite over yet. The question will be: did Jillian know how Reid felt about her? And if so, would it make a difference? I think she knew she would definitely pick Kiptyn and her real decision was whether the awkward night with Ed (if that wasn't staged) was a fluke or whether it was real and she should go with Reid. Jill's relationship with Reid has grown steadily and her interactions with him reveal her playful quirky side - matching the same in him. You can see that their dates seem the most normal - going grocery shopping to pick out a meal to have a picnic - only neither of them can speak Spanish and therefore they don't end up with any food. That's real. Watching Reid do the hula dancing was equally hilarious. He was awful. But she loved it. Perhaps the real question is why Jillian chose to say good-bye to him in the first place. And should he come back with a proposal, would she accept it? Or would she accept a promise ring? Was her chemistry with Reid greater than that with other two and if it was, why would she get rid of him? I guess we'll have to see. Ultimately, she make a decision that her feelings re: Ed and Kiptyn were stronger than with Reid, and perhaps that is still the answer after all is said and done.

Reid's Pros: Quirky in an adorable way; Warm, inviting family; Flexible job/family business that Jillian could get involved in; Sincere and genuinely into Jillian; Down to earth and funny (loved when he started wandering around the train when everybody else was on the group date with Jillian and he got drunk and talked to the train employees).

Reid's Cons: Maybe a bit too quirky; They keep discussing their "differences" though perhaps besides religion, not sure what they are except that he dates blondes; He is not able to verbalize to Jillian's satisfaction how he feels about her; Some of the other guys in the house have referred to Reid as "annoying" and "dorky" - given they may not be the best judge of characters, but I wonder what made them say that.

4. Jillian Chooses Nobody. The ultimate in unsatisfying endings, the fact that Jillian is obviously rattled and is in tears at the end may hint at the fact that she is too confused to pick anybody. This would be so annoying, because I really do think she had some fantastic candidates. The Mikes were great, and her final 3 were equally great. Surely one of them would be worth at least pursuing a relationship with?? I doubt she chooses herself...but it's certainly a possibility.

The next question is: will she become engaged, receive a promise ring or just simply choose a person? I think it depends on who she chooses. With Ed, I see engagement. With Kiptyn, I see them just dating. With Reid, I see promise ring.

If I had to guess, I'd say Ed takes it all. Now's your turn. Who do you think it will be???
