It's been an exciting week of news - the Royal Wedding, the death of Osama bin Laden and the possibility that Emily and Brad are still together!!! Particularly this last one. PHEW. How do we know BrEmily are still an "item" as my parents would say? They were seen out in Austin, Texas last Friday at Kona Grill. If she's still willing to get on a plane for this guy, it can't be over quiet yet, right?
In other British related news, Shayne Lamas, who won The Bachelor: London Calling season by stealing the heart of British Bachelor Matt Grant, is prego. Shayne and Matt, who got engaged on the finale of the show, called it quits soon after the finale aired.
Shayne, 25, went on to marry Nik Richie, founder of TheDirty.com within a few hours of meeting him in Vegas back in April 2010. Given the history of spontaneity and unusual marriages in the Lamas family, it should not be surprising that Shayne attended her father's wedding on Saturday to a 24 year old - his fifth marriage. Check out this pic of her at her father's wedding - the day after the Royals. She kind of looks like a blonde Snookie, no? It must be an interesting dynamic when your step-mom is a year younger than you. I wonder what family dinners are like.
And for all of you who were/are big Dr. Travis Stork fans (he was my all time favorite Bachelor), it's time to take out the tissues. Dr. Stork is engaged! He proposed to his girlfriend of two years, a pediatrician named Charlotte Brown while vacationing in Lanai. She's pretty and probably a much better fit, being a doctor herself. In case you need some more of your Dr. Stork fix, you can watch him on "The Doctors," a daytime talk show.
And for all of you who can't watch another minute of Dancing With the Stars (I hear you), not to fear - May is here! This means we have TWENTY day left until the Bachelorette premiere. Mark your calendars: Monday, May 23rd is the day it all starts. I have to admit, I'm a bit skeptical that Ashley will have what it takes to keep the attention of Bachelor fans worldwide, but it's usually these seasons that become the most interesting.
Hope you are all enjoying the off season.
Til next time,
Stacey B
