If someone has the case of the Mondays, that's definitely me. It was finally such a beautiful weekend outside, and The Husband and I took full advantage of a quiet New York City. We were given a pair of orchestra seat tickets from a family friend to the Broadway show called "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert," an extremely rare treat for us. Good seats to a Broadway show (particularly on a Saturday night) are mighty pricey these days, so when someone offers them to us for free, who are we to refuse? For any of you who haven't seen this show, it's kind of like Mamma Mia meets Bird Cage on steroids. Extremely flamboyant, high energy, incredible costumes and famililar songs that will have you tapping your feet - these actors were all beyond talented. We knew nothing about the show before we saw it, but it focuses on the adventures of 3 drag queens. I think it draws mostly a female and gay audience, but everyone can appreciate the beyond entertaining nature of this production. If only a 6'5" man was not sitting in front of me with his highly inappropriately affectionate wife who was massaging her husband's back, hair or speaking to him in a normal voice throughout the entire show, I could have enjoyed it more. There were several attempts to "shush" this woman. The Husband contemplated reaching in and taking over the massage of her husband to see if he noticed. I contemplated doing one of my fake sneezes on them, but resisted the urge.
Regardless, it's another Bachelorette Monday and tonight's show is promised to be the real deal dramatic. If there was anything remotely more interesting on TV tonight, I might be inclined. The Husband has happily committed to playing basketball tonight and seems all too eager to miss the show. Promises regarding tonight's show: Bentley reveals to Ash that he can't stay on the show. It will be somewhat interesting to see what reasons he gives her. Does he tell the truth and say he's not attracted to her? Or does he say he's a committed dad and can't stand another second away from his daughter? In other words - will he continue to manipulate her? From the looks of her reaction he may tell her the truth (he wishes she was Emily). As for Mask Man - he is supposed to reveal his face. I am so over this ridiculous story line - so hopefully that will come to a halt tonight.
I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the Bachelorette, but I am looking forward to the Monday work day being over. Til tonight...
