Bachelor Pad: Melissa Insists She's 'Not That Emotional' Off Camera

Bachelor Pad: Melissa Insists She's 'Not That Emotional' Off Camera

Do you still have feelings for Blake?
Melissa: I have
no feelings whatsoever. I'm over it. He's still Tweeting nasty things
about me. We had some email correspondence that was very passive
aggressive on his end. I just want to be done with him. Blake is not the
kind of human being I would want to be with. He's not a good person.

Both of you had public opinion problems or roommate issues while on Bachelor and Bachelorette. Why put yourself back out there?
William:
It was different for me. I felt more relaxed. It didn't feel as
orchestrated. There was a lot less pressure. You got to hang out with
the guys and there wasn't one girl we were all going after. I was a lot
more myself on Pad.

Melissa: I was asked and said no several times. I didn't
agree until two weeks prior to flying out. I came on to repair my image,
which obviously did not work, and to win the money. Read the rest of the Bachelor Pad interview at People.com!

Bachelor Pad with Erica Rose!

Bachelor Pad's Erica Rose Recaps Episode 4

Jake, Blake and All Things Fake

Help, Chris, I'm being attacked by a snake and fake boobs!
A few more observations from last night's show in no particular order:

1.  I found out that several lawyers I used to work with and a very senior lawyer that I currently work with can not tolerate Bachelor Pad this season.  They think the level of trashiness is far beyond watchability.  I find this somewhat surprising because if you take this show for the mindless entertainment that it is - there's nothing that remotely comes close on Monday nights.  And then there's my other lawyer friend Anna who has the courage to admit that Bachelor Pad is her new favorite show after just tuning in last night.  I'm with you, Anna.

2.   I'm still torn up about Blake.  Is he the bad boy that Melissa has him pegged as or is he just playing the game to win?  I think he just made the bad decision of partnering up with Melissa before he got a chance to know her.  There was no way Melissa would let him out of her grip without a meltdown or five.  And if Erica is your only alternative, well yikes.  So who would you have chosen to go on a date with?  Play it safe and stick with Melissa?  She seemed to think so.  Chris Harrison points out that the whole "He looked me in the eye and pinky swore," after he chose Holly, pretty much sums up the entire rationale behind Melissa's behavior: she never quite left 7th grade.   Were you sad watching Blake and Holly start to fall for each other?  I couldn't help but feel bad for Michael.  At the same time, when a date is THAT good, it's going to be hard to stop that momentum, especially with them all living together.  I'm not sure Michael can keep up with the Great First Date known as Blake.

3.  Mammoth Mountain looked like an incredibly fun place to go on a first date.  It was kind of funny watching Holly (who is 5 foot 9, btw!), go tumbling everywhere.

4.  Erica is ridiculous.  I know I've said this before but her tactics for trying to convince Jake and Blake to partner up with her had to be somewhat contrived.  She seemed really heartbroken that Jake left. For about 2 seconds before she moved on to Blake.

5.  The tooth brushing wait room.  I laughed for almost the entire 40 seconds that Blake made Melissa wait while he finished brushing his teeth to scold him.  Why she agreed to wait that long is part of the problem.  This poor girl would have partnered up with the mansion curtains if they showed the remotest sign of interest.

6.  With Jake gone, I thought it might get a little boring.  But Kasey's initial comment that he's a "strategist" and all of the ridiculous kissing / celebrating that he felt the need to do with Vienna after Jake left let us know quickly that the madness was not over.  Phew.

7.  I like that Michelle Money took the high road in not joining the kissing contest.  She's gotten so moral on us!  She must have been very confident that she'd be safe this week.  I guess Graham did not feel the need to excuse himself just because his lady interest/roommate withdrew.  So loyal that guy is.

8.  Michael & Holly.  Will this last?  Is it over?  From the previews we know Holly makes out with Blake again.  Does this mean it's over for the ex engaged pair?  Will Michael ever forgive himself for letting Holly go?  They definitely seem to have an intense connection but Holly may be blinded by the whiteness of Blake's teeth.

9.  Ella and Kirk's sad stories.  Ella's story about her mom getting killed in front of her at age 3, is horrible!! I hope that Kirk is actually interested in her because they seem to make each other happy and both have gone through a lot.

10.  Thank you to ABC for not bringing back Jeff the Mask Guy.  Instead, we got a healthy farewell to Melissa and William.  Melissa's crying in the limo was far worse than any break-up crying limo scene on this show.  I hope that she's happily on medication in whatever town she came from.

Chris Harrison blogs 'Bachelor Pad' episode 4

Chris Harrison's Bachelor Pad blog via EW.com! -- "I came in the house to introduce this week’s very benign contest, the
kissing competition. But as was the case all along with this crew, it
didn’t take long to set the kids off. For some reason after all they
have all said and done on this show, the kissing contest was just too
much to handle and the house was sent spiraling out of control. This is
where they decided to draw the line of decency. Sadly enough I’m not
even joking. Once they all realized this was not the end of civilization
and that they would indeed all live, the contest began — minus one
holdout, Michelle Money, who did not want to participate out of respect
for her daughter..." Read Chris Harrison's full Bachelor blog here!

Stuck Between a Nut, Botox Lips and a Holly

Lock Your Doors & Windows
Tonight's episode of Bachelor Pad 2 has started to restore my faith in The Bachelor franchise.  For the first time since Brad Womack was making out with Chantal O all night in an African treehouse days before he proposed to Emily, I was sitting on the edge of my seat.  I didn't know what I was more excited to see: whether Blake would choose Melissa and go through one of the most uncomfortable one on one "romantic" dates in Bach history, choose Erica and get physically nauseous from watching her stick her boobs, lips and monotone seduction voice to get what she wants out of him, or watch as the fireworks exploded if he chose Holly.  Luckily, we got a little bit of everything.  Melissa went just crazy enough to make us still worry that she's going to pop out of a closet in our apartment tonight or stand by in the bathroom to talk to us while we brush our teeth.  I'm completely terrified of her.  Erica rubbing oil over Blake and thinking she has any romantic chance with him whatsoever is hysterically funny and nauseating at the same time.  And watching Melissa's reaction to Holly getting chosen is just plain entertainment.  First, she basically tells Michael to his face that his ex-fiance and the woman he loves doesn't give two @#($@( about him.  Harsh.  Then later she drums up a crystal clear picture of Holly and Blake making out when they don't come back from their overnight.  Any sympathy I had for Melissa goes out the door at her complete thoughtlessness.

And poor Michael Stagliano.  There's nothing worse than realizing the women you were once engaged to and who is out on a date with another guy is irreplaceable.  Bad timing.  But these two can't seem to get it together when there are absolutely NO obstacles in their way.  I mean, what is so difficult exactly?  They love each other, they are attracted to each other, so what's the problem?  Blake's perfect teeth?  Holly's inability to make a decision?  I get that they couldn't make it work in the past, but what's so hard about giving it another try - at least for the cameras?  And since when did Vienna become a relationship counselor?  You know you're in trouble if you're going to Vienna for relationship advice.

Seeing Michelle Money being so nurturing and motherly to Melissa and Vienna makes me question her sanity.  We saw her fist pumping when Jake got voted off - what was that all about?  What beef does she have with Jake?  None, except that her girl Vienna is happy about it.  Maybe she's scared of Vienna.  And why on earth did they make us wait an entire week before showing us the Jake vote off aftermath?  It was so disappointing.  I wanted to see Jake and Kasey go at it (like The Situation and Ronni on Jersey Shore).  I love how Jake told everyone to vote off the Power Couples and then he says an individual farewell to both Vienna and Kasey, the very people he is talking about.   Seeing Kasey's little smile and victory speech (which I didn't understand as it was mumbled as usual), made me dislike the guy even more.  Why the others haven't figure out a way to vote him off (especially over someone harmless like Will) is beyond me.

Before I hit the hay tonight and wonder if my Metro North train will work tomorrow morning, I have to say that I just love Kirk.  Such a nice guy.  And good for him and Ella getting some unexpected smooching going on in the hot air balloon.  Did not see that coming, but they both seem like nice, sane people so hooray for normal meeting normal.  Ella seems to be the only female left in the house with a brain, so I am looking forward to hearing her tell it like it is the other looney bins in the house.  Hopefully Vienna is next on her list of people to call out.

More tomorrow.  I love this show.  So thankful it has returned to us the drama, insanity and pure, unfiltered moronic moments that I knew it was capable of.

Last thought:  LOVE that Kasey refused to do the kissing contest saying that Vienna would kill him, and then BAM the two of them of course participate.  Chris Harrison said that a lot of time was spent convincing everyone to compete.  More on that tomorrow as well...

Maria Sharapova Serena Williams are at the top of the rankings 2011

While neither Maria Sharapova or Serena Williams are at the top of the rankings, they both are dangerous competitors on hard courts.

When the U.S. Open begins in Flushing Meadows, New York, on Aug. 29, all eyes will be on Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams. Both are accomplished hard court players, and they are likely to be tough competitors in this year’s event.

Maria Sharapova

The 2011 tournament offers a new shot at glory for both Russia and the United States. Russia now claims 13 of the world’s top 100 female players, and although the United States is still looking for successors to the Williams sisters, Serena is finally back in top form. After a big-toe injury and a pulmonary embolism that put her life in danger in March, Williams has been working out with a new trainer and won a tournament at Stanford. There she defeated Sharapova in the quarterfinals. With 13 Grand Slam tournament titles already under her belt, the champion from Los Angeles now wants to take top honors at Flushing Meadows to solidify her return. Sharapova is considered the only one that can defeat Williams on the tennis court. She is seeded third in the tournament, to Williams’ 28, but Williams remains a powerful player. But the Russian has already beaten her rival in one important measure – earnings. For the seventh year in a row, Sharapova is the highest-earning player on the WTA circuit, with annual earnings totalling more than $25 million. According to a survey published by the website Sportspromedia.com, Sharapova is the female tennis player most desired by sponsors and multinational corporations. Fifty-nine percent of relevant companies said they would choose to have an endorsement deal with her. portfolio already includes commercial agreements with Clear, Cole Haan, Evian, Head, Tiffany & Co and Tag Heuer, in addition to an 8-year, $100 million contract with Nike. Companies post offers for their products on Sharapova’s official Facebook page. Serena Williams, for her part, is third in the earnings rankings, thanks in part to her own deal with Nike. But many experts expect Chinese player Li Na, currently the world’s second-highest earner, to overtake Sharapova in 2012. Her surprise win at the French Open in 2012 gave her some cache among China’s increasingly savvy consumers.
