I'm trying to keep these posts short and sweet as I am low on sleep this week and it's only Tuesday. Plus, I'm not sure that anyone who has watched the 5 hours to date of Bachelor Pad has any brain cells left to keep an attention span for very long. I fall into that category.
Let's first discuss Jackie and Ames. This was definitely the most romantic gesture we have ever seen on Bachelor Pad. Ames the billionaire whose father was a former Olympian and whose mother is the Head of the USTA sacrifices a mere $250,000 for love. Only, that love was short lived. According to a press conference call with them that took place today, the two are done. Sounds like Jackie got dumped and with little explanation:
"Um, well, we had a great time on the show and chose love over money in the competition," said Ames. "We are not still dating but we enjoyed every moment we had together. After a little while, we split up. Nothing too exotic about it...We just maybe weren't the ideal match."Jackie had a different take.
"I was shocked that it ended as it did. I thought it was potential forever," she said. "It came out of nowhere. As far as I knew, things were great. I thought it lasted much longer than it did. I guess you didn't. It takes two."
My guess is that Ames had no idea how popular he'd be after Ashley's season of The Bachelorette aired and the women are throwing themselves at him. Plus now that Ben F is going out on dates with celebrities (Jennifer Love Hewitt), he's no longer 100% a shoe-in to be the next Bachelor, and Ames is probably up there on the short list of potential candidates. Long distance can't even be the problem since they both live in NYC.
Other insane things that happened on this week's show:
Strange group dates. Michael Stagliano's date into the haunted hospital had to be one of the least romantic, least fantasy oriented dates in Bach history. They definitely got shafted. The highlight of this date, however, was Michael and Holly's private conversation. It was definitely emotional and deep and brought both of them to tears. I was kind of confused why they couldn't just make it work, but it's got to have something to do with Blake's smile. Holly's got it bad for him and poor Michael doesn't stand a chance as long as Blake remains interested in Holly.
Which brings me to Melissa. What a mess. I just cringe thinking about what she must be thinking watching herself on TV. It's a 1000 times worse than the Ashley / Bentley situation. Ashley just showed poor judgment. Melissa shows a lack of sanity. Yes, Blake's being a snake and taking every measure (including his integrity) to get that $250,000, but Melissa is not doing a good job of hiding her insecurity demons.
Vienna Not Being Able to Speak to Jake Without Kasey. What a joke. Vienna may not be willing to save Jake on Bachelor Pad, but she is sure is helping him redeem his image. Could anyone look more manipulative, overdramatic or dysfunctional than Vienna and Kasey? Then after they act like complete jerks to Jake, they start canoodling in the living room whispering that they are each other's "forever." So basically teaming up and bullying others is an erotic fueling mechanism for their relationship. How romantic. And the worst part is that everyone else seems to be scared of them or why else would they still be able to rule the day? How is someone like Gia, a swimsuit model, not able to woo enough of the guys in the house to vote off Kasey or Vienna? It's like normal rules of humanity do not apply. Then again, when on earth would two formerly engaged couples live together? I think Chris Harrison is just as annoyed with Vienna as I am. In his blog post today, he mentioned that when it was announced that two ladies were going home this week, Vienna was so pissed that her hours of plotting and strategizing were for nothing - that she wanted everyone to quit the show. She was even brought to tears. Of course nobody did quit the show and I loved that Chris called her out on "being forced" to interact with Jake. Yes, Vienna, there's the door. Go grab your limo and your man (whose tattoo now has it's own scary pulse) and get a move on.
White bikinis. Watching the girls get smashed with paint while their fake boobies glistened in their white bikinis was quite a sight. I did feel bad for Erica that she was being slammed with paintballs by guys selecting her as the least attractive girl in the house. That was, until Erica verbally expressed that Ella was "much bigger than" her and not attractive. Way to pick yourself up.
Jake the Fake. I know you're probably sick of hearing about Jake by now, but is anyone else just waiting for this guy to explode on Vienna? I wonder if the producers changed the rules to having two women leave once they thought Jake would definitely get voted out. So far on this season of Bachelor Pad, we've seen a very apologetic, thoughtful, gentleman like Jake. He's polite in the face of complete nastiness from Vienna. He's given a rose to Vienna to save her from elimination when he easily could have gotten rid of her. And how has Vienna, the woman he was engaged to repay him? She has talked badly about him. She refuses to speak to him without her boyfriend present. She's told everyone in the house he's a monster and that she's scared of him. She accuses him of needing the $250,000 to pay off debts from his limo business. All the while, Jake takes it with a smile and by walking away. But we've all seen this guy before when he's reached his breaking point. At what point will it be too much? What will cause him to wish Vienna to fall 3000 feet to her death? I can't wait to see it all unfold! Right now I feel bad for the guy, but then again - this is the same person who chose Vienna out of 25 perfectly nice ladies to marry. He either has really poor judgment or he's got another side to him that we're waiting to see.
Graham and Michelle Money. When is this romance going to take off? I was disappointed in Graham this week. Why his loyalty is to Kasey over Gia makes no sense. Michelle seems to be the big comforter in the house. She hugs and comforts Erica after she's deemed least attractive by the guys. Then she hugs a crying Melissa when she's distressed about Blake. This certainly seems to be a different Michelle Money.
Crying and More Crying. Here's who cried: (1) Gia (2) Erica (3) Melissa (4) Holly (5) Vienna (6) Michael. Am I missing anyone? Only the second episode and we've got tears from 6 people? Not bad. These guys are completely insane.
Alright, speaking of crying, my eyes are tearing, which means it's time to take my contacts out and go to bed. What did you all think of this week's show??
