I'm slipping away from the insane screaming going on in my living room right now. You'd think someone was getting murdered instead of the Giants playing the 49ers. The Husband is not even a Giants fan. I don't get it.
So in doing a little bit of research, I came across a picture on People.com's website of Jamie Otis, one of Ben's contestants this season. As you may recall, we haven't seen much of Jamie in the last two episodes, but she's the nurse from Scottsdale who had to raise her siblings. She seems like a very down to earth type person and very genuine.
In any event, you may be surprised to learn, like me, that along with nursing she was also competing in beauty pageants. Last weekend she won "Miss Congeniality" in the Miss New York USA 2012 pageant in Westchester, NY. I have no idea how one competes in this while being a nurse, taking care of siblings and being a contestant on the Bachelor, but there you go. For a complete slide show of Jamie's competition, you can check it out here.
Congrats, Jamie! In other news, if anyone is interested in throwing a very expensive party or having a lavish bachelorette or bachelor weekend, The Bachelor's mansion is up for rent for a whopping $2100 per night. Of course maybe you just want to take a crazy vacation and sleep in all 6 bedrooms or cry in all 9 bathrooms. In which case you might want to pay the $13,000 plus per week cost. Or if you've got a lot of rich friends and all want to pool your money for a month away - you can get the mansion for the bargain price of
$35,225 per month. If you are already throwing in this much money, can you at least pay for me to come join you? You won't even know we're there.
And if you're still not over the whole Shawntel coming back from last week, check out this
People article where her interview can be found. It explains that Ben and Shawntel had never actually met in person, but they knew who the other was and had exchanged some message and phone numbers. It also reveals Shawntel's opinion that Courtney is the one Ben ends up with. And that Court and Jaclyn were the meanest of the mean.
Tomorrow night's show should be interesting - now I just have to figure out how to avoid everyone in my building for the annual shareholders meeting of the coop board that's taking place in our building's lobby. Why they schedule these things on Bachelor night Mondays, I have no idea. Perhaps I can convince The Husband to go...?
