Happy Holidays

12 hours from now, if all goes well, I will be on a plane bound for the Caribbean.  I am taking a much needed vacation and could not be more excited.

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season and wish you all a wonderful time with your family and friends.  For those of you braving the cold climates, stay warm!! 

Tomorrow night, I am missing my company's annual holiday dinner. We did a Secret Santa.  The rules were this: you could only spend $20 and the gift had to be funny, but not mean.  I ended up getting my Secret Santa recipient a camouflaged Snuggie (hopefully he won't read this before tomorrow night). I also wrote him a poem, which you are free to copy for your own Secret Santa recipients - just tell whoever you are giving it to about this blog.

Here's the poem I wrote that accompanied the gift:

Your Secret Santa thought long and hard


Of what was better than 20 bucks in a card

It had to be funny, not mean, of course!

And portable, unlike a pommel horse

Booze infused whip cream would have been sweet

But I live in New York, which forbids such a treat

I almost got you a Heineken keg

But alas, it’s too heavy for my short legs

The t-shirts I found weren’t that funny

A shirt not your size is a waste of money

So I asked myself, “What would I want as a gift?”

But figured you may not like Taylor Swift

Candy’s not funny, wine has been overdone

Oh no, have I just insulted everyone?

And then in a store, I saw what I needed

I hope your expectations have not been exceeded

This gift will keep you warm and feeling silly

But at least you won’t complain that you’re chilly

In addition to using this by a fire with fresh logs

Sorry that I am missing this Legal Americas dinner scene

But I’m relaxing in Puerto Rico. Boy, is that mean!
