William Ruto was among the top three trending list with the hash tag #Rutoplaylist. The former minister of higher learning who jetted out to the Hague to meet with the ICC prosecutor Moreno Ocampo, early December.
Ruto is receiving a lot of attention on the social site, he comes a close third after tweets about Lil Wayne’s release from prison with the hash tag #weezysfirsttweetfromjail.
The tags on #Rutoplaylist, saw tweeps compose lyrics and come up with a play list that suited Ruto’s Hague visit. The various tweets came not only from the Kenyan Tweeter users but worldwide.
Some of the tweet read: “Ruto to Ocampo – I’m Your Baby Tonight - Whitney Houston”, “Corrs-What Can I do to make u love me #rutoplaylist”, “The crime you want to charge I-Man for, it's not possible, and I am not guilty - Burning Spear”, “Dear Mama by Tupac, 'I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell, huggin on my mama from a jail cell'” and finally . “Siendi Kenchic, pengine Hague #rutoplaylist,” borrowed from Chris Adwar and the Villagers Band single Kenchic.
Other tweets that listed song titles reminiscent Ruto’s position include Gone Since November – Wyclef Jean, Akon - Locked Up, Runaway - Kanye West, Money Power Respect – LOX, Dunia Mbaya - Princess July, SOS – Rihanna and It Wasn’t Me by Shaggy.
