Sometimes keeping a low profile about my Bachelor blogging obsession is a bad decision. Most of the time it's the smart thing to do. I'm supposed to be a lawyer at a financial institution and all of my credibility (if I have any to begin with) would be thrown out the window the moment I start saying things like, "I wonder how Courtney convinced Ben to go skinny dipping with her knowing there were cameras around!" I have to at least pretend to be a civilized adult here, which is very difficult most of the time.
Anyhow, every so often, instead of talking financial stuff, my officemates do like to discuss TV. So yesterday, it was only natural that the chatter turned to the Bach premiere. People seem to really like Emily and Lindzi and the guys all seemed to like Kacie and Jamie. I like to politely chime in from time to time, but try not to get too descriptive in my comments for fear of giving myself up as the obsessed reality tv watching lunatic of the office. In this way, there are only a handful of people who know about my blog here. So when I was pouring hot water into my oatmeal packet contents, it shouldn't have been a surprise when one co-worker started saying, "Well I read on one of the gossip blogs what the ending of this season is and..." I didn't let her say another word. I started screaming, "Stop! Stop! Stop!" then quickly slammed down my oatmeal, put my hands to my ears, started humming and ran out of the kitchen. If HR does not report to my office in the next couple of hours, I will be shocked.
Do you guys discuss The Bachelor at work? With your friends? Family? How do you avoid spoilers? And does anyone know of any jobs in case I no longer have this one?
