24: The Jack Bauer Drinking Game

The Boyfriend and I finally got around to watching 24 today. Do any of you out there watch this show? My parents have sworn it off because they say it's stress inducing, and basically it's the same story line over and over. They are fed up with the fact that when the show comes to the last 3 minutes, it always leaves you with a cliffhanger and is completely unsatisfying every time. I can see what they are saying. But I love it anyway.

This week on 24, Jack has just escaped the hospital where he was framed for murdering one of the patients he was there to question under the authority of the President's Chief of Staff. He somehow manages to get in touch with Renee, the FBI agent who has been suspended by her jerk boss who can't seem to make any good decisions, and gets an address from her of the very Senator trying to prosecute him for torturing people. Unbeknown to him, the Senator possesses files about a company that Jack theorizes is making a biochemical weapon of mass destruction. Jack arrives at the Senator's house, convinces him that the national threat is not over, then jumps out a window after a bad guy hired by the shell company shows up at the front door and murders the Senator. Jack bulldozes the bad guy after falsely leading him to a small office with the blood on his cut hand and is on the run again. He steals a car and calls his other fleeing buddy after getting an address that contains the bioterror weapons. Other happenings: Chloe's husband gives the FBI the info to break an encrypted message that Renee sent Jack. He does it to free Chloe from FBI custody, but she's pissed. The President's daughter, Olivia (who was AWESOME as Claire's art school friend in Six Feet Under), and the Chief of Staff, Ethan, are at each other's throats, literally.

In case you are lost, and let's face it - if you haven't started watching 24 by now, you're never going to catch up this season, you can participate if you turn this into a drinking game. It's much easier than figuring out what the hell is going on with this show. Here are the rules: Watch for these behaviors and drink every time you see them:

1. Chloe scowling about something
2. Jack hot wiring a car
3. Somebody you think is a good person is really bad
4. Two people that work together are actually having an affair
5. Just when you think the world is saved, there is another threat
6. Jack screams out, "NOW!"
7. The White House, the FBI, or any other federal agency screws something up (you could just drink the entire show for this)
8. Jack uses somebody else's cell phone
9. Jack gets arrested, then released
10. Jack questions someone in custody (or not in custody) despite being an arrested felon
11. Someone tries to disarm a bomb
12. Somebody fires a gun
13. Jeanine Garofolo lurks around, hears something suspicious and reports it like a loser
14. Glass breaks
15. Chloe gives directions on how to get somewhere or building plans as Jack tries to find something
16. Jack gets shot at or has a physical fight with someone
17. Poisonous gas is used
18. An innocent person is kidnapped for his bomb/computer expertise
19. A woman is roughed up in an earlier episode, then suddenly has new make-up on a few episodes later (when it would only be a few hours later in the same day)
20. The entire world would go to the crapper if Jack Bauer wasn't there with a plan to save it.

Let me know how your game goes!
