I watched the entire 2 hours of last night's Dancing With the Stars ("DWTS") in about 38 minutes, so while I didn't catch everything, I saw enough. Here are some comments:
* Shawn Johnson looked a little like a Chiquita banana, but she's still adorable. Seriously one of the cutest smiles of celebrities out there. I don't like that they dress her in these horribly unflattering mono-kini type things. She's a muscular gal, and needs something more in line with her body type. That Bruno judge was saying she needs to be a little more flirtacious, more sexy. But she's 17! I mean come on, one of the reason America fell in love with her was because she's innocent and a gymnast - not because she's some sex kitten. Leave her alone.
* Denise Richards was actually less annoying than I originally thought. That's probably because they didn't really give her too many lines - but she seemed relatively intelligent. I'm wondering if this is really the case. I think a lot of her stress would go away in life if she would just get a haircut. It's weighing her and her dance moves down.
*I felt really bad for Steve-O and Lacey. I think they got the worst scores of the night after he hurt his back and they had to judge them based on their dress rehearsal (where he looked like he would just walk off at certain points).
*Major props to Jewel's husband who I think wins "Most Improved" this week. He was actually really good.
*Lawrence Taylor and that other old guy are still not cutting it. Their days are numbered.
*I think Julianne Hough (rhymes with Rough) has never been given less than an A+ in her life. She gets all glossy blue eyed when the judges ridicule her or her boyfriend. She's still drop dead gorgeous though and so is her boyfriend.
*Melissa's parents were in the audience with her boyfriend, Ty. Go Melissa! I love that they support her for this show, but not for The Bachelor. They had it right all along. She is absolutely fabulous. Although her hair style with the baby clips in various points along with her costume kind of looked a bit lion-ish - she still was incredible. Amazing natural dance talent. They scored the first 9s of the season.
*I can't watch Derek Hough - there's just something about him that screams "Evil Prince" to me. He finds himself much more attractive than he is. I feel like he plays up his friendship with Mark Ballas for ratings. Meanwhile, I love when Mark Ballas and Shawn Johnson do lovey dovey scenes on the dance floor where their noses touch and Shawn smiles. She so clearly has never kissed a boy before. It's adorable.
