DWTS - Recap

We're down to an extremely talented bunch on DWTS. Melissa fractured a rib and at the last minute could not perform, so she did not participate tonight. Hopefully her fans can get her out of the low scores she received. The best part of her performance (which was based off of her rehearsal with Tony), was the fact that she was in a sports bra and showed off a perfectly toned, tan mid-section. She'll definitely receive the male vote. Poor thing. Feel better, Melissa!!

Gilles started off the night - and showed his fun side doing the Lindy Hop. Cheryl and him completed a high energy routine and received straight 9s.

We were forced to watch Derek and Lil' Kim dance together awkwardly once again. She's starting to look like a Grandma to me, with all of her make-up combined with the terrible eye contacts and exaggerated outfits. Next to Derek who is an ice skating swan prince, it's just never a pretty combination.

I love Julianne and Chuck - can't really decide whether she looks better with no make-up, in practice wearing casual clothes or all dolled up for the competition. I think she was very pleased with their performance tonight. Her outfit distracted any missteps Chuck may have had as she was wearing a blue sparkly bathing suit type thing that exposed her entire back. If I looked like her, I'd wear that to work too.

Ty and Chelsea were charming as always. I loved Chelsea's gold, tiered dress - she definitely shined tonight. Ty may be next to go, however. Not sure his country boy personality can carry him through much longer.

Shawn and Mark - always adorable. The judges were not as impressed with Shawn this week. I disagree - I think she is so much fun to watch - she simply can't stop smiling when she performs. And her technique seems so precise. I simply love to watch her.

The second part of the night was a group dance. It was 3 couples against 3 couples. Melissa couldn't dance, so Lacey took her place with Tony. You'd think that between Julianne, Shawn and Melissa - they'd have this in the bag. But the judges said that the music (Beyonce's "Single Ladies," overpowered the dancers). At the end of the performance, the guys somehow ended up in white leggings and black sequined tops. It was actually kind of funny. They got totally dominated, however, by the other group team. It was hard not to smile while watching this performance. Great show tonight. We need Melissa back, though. I hope her low scores don't kill her chances.
