Throughout the season of the most recent Bachelor, I became a sort of regular on the ABC message boards. One of the more common discussions/suggestions from fans of the show was to have a reality dating show centered around either an African American Bachelor, an Asian American Bachelor or to make the contestants more like every day citizens. While there are some reality shows featuring non-Caucasian "Bachelors" and "Bachelorettes" on VH1, there aren't any on the main networks like Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.
As for having every day people (and not just the skinny minis that can wear a bikini and hang out at the pool all day with little fear of showing off their bodies) on a reality dating show, history is being made. Fox and Mike Fleiss (creator of The Bachelor) are making a reality tv show, similar to the format of The Bachelor, called "More to Love." This show will feature a plus-sized bachelor as he woos plus-sized bachelorettes. This is kind of like The Biggest Loser meets The Bachelor, but I'm assuming it will be much worse as both of those shows individually are great and combining them might be a disaster. I hope Fox can pull this off without insulting people.
Would you watch this show?
